I live in Portland, Oregon. I’m interested in bicycles, books, and drinking coffee…
I have a BA in Sociology from UC Davis where I graduated in 2007. I moved to Portland in September of 2007, mostly attracted by the bicycle culture and infrastructure here.
I seem to have a fabulous ability to get myself lost on my bike which has spawned an interest in maps, mapping, and how people learn their way around.
I love reading and have been trying to read as much as possible since graduation. It’s nice to have the time to read whatever I want and not just assigned texts (although I loved many of those). I really appreciate libraries and worked in one for a little over two years. They are a wonderful resource, especially when you don’t have much money! Most of the books currently mentioned on this site were checked out of the local library.
I really do love coffee and I enjoy going to cafes and reading. If I ride my bike there and the book is from a library, I guess that is when all of the above interests intersect. Well, there and this blog… So read, enjoy and feel free to comment.
